Treatment
Information
Best time:
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that
a patient be seen at age 7. However, most patients are not
treated at that time. Sometimes interceptive orthodontic treatment
may be indicated. Interceptive treatment can help guard against
more severe problems later on, yielding better results in
less time.
Length of treatment:
Treatment time varies depending on the severity of the orthodontic
problem.
Routine appointments:
Once treatment begins, most patients are seen once every four
to six weeks. Most routine orthodontic appointments are of
shorter duration (about 10-20 minutes).
